At Language & Literacy Academy for Learning, our free therapy services are the best in the region for students with special needs. Our therapy service providers are able to support our students’ health conditions, environmental, and personal factors more effectively because we specialize in them.
Our in-house therapists are dedicated to supporting our students and helping them to overcome the functional limitations or health conditions that might prevent them from reaching their highest levels of academic success.
As we prepare for the new school year, we want to introduce you to some members of our therapy team. In today’s Therapist Spotlight, meet Speech Language Pathology Assistant, Katorya Bush!
What inspired you to become a speech therapist?
My son inspired me to become a speech therapist. When he was a small child, I wasn’t able to help him with his speech disorders. Now I can help the parents that are not able to help their children.
What is your favorite thing about being a speech therapist?
Being able to help children to overcome their speech disorders. Helping the child feel better about him/herself regardless of their disability.
Who is your personal hero?
My grandmother.
What do you like to do for fun?
Traveling with family and friends.
Be sure to check out our other Therapist Spotlights, and join us at our upcoming Therapist Meet & Greet to meet Harmony and the rest of our therapy team in person!
