Enrollment Eligibility Requirements

To be enrolled, applicants must have either an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Family Support Plan (FSP). Children under 3 years old must be part of the Early Steps Program under a Family Support Plan, while those older than 3 years old must have an IEP. For those without an IEP, we will assist families in initiating the process through their neighborhood school or Child Find. Once eligibility is confirmed, the enrollment process will proceed in accordance with our policies and procedures.

Applicants with social, relational, mental health, and behavioral challenges will be assessed and provided with appropriate support in an individualized setting.
Applicants must demonstrate therapeutic intervention needs, such as in independent ambulation, speech and language, communication, social skills, visual perception, sensory processing, auditory processing, behavior, and/or self-help/independence. Students typically experience challenges in communicating basic wants and needs, ambulating or accessing their environment, eating/swallowing, hearing or vision deficits, fine motor skills, sensory processing, developmental delay, and emotional regulation.

For therapy services covered by medical insurance for Speech Language Pathology (SLP), Occupational Therapy (OT), and Physical Therapy (PT), a physician’s order must be provided.

Controlled Open Enrollment (COE)

Pursuant to Florida Statute §1002.31, our school participates in Controlled Open Enrollment, which allows a parent to enroll and transport his or her child to a Florida public school, including a charter school, that has not reached capacity. Students who reside in any Florida school district may apply, provided the student:

  • Is not currently subject to an expulsion or suspension, and
  • The requested grade level has available capacity at the time of enrollment.

Controlled Open Enrollment is subject to school capacity limitations, as determined by grade level, program, and facility constraints, in accordance with state law.

Charter schools are required to annually publish their Controlled Open Enrollment application process, including capacity and admissions procedures. Transportation is not provided through COE.

For additional information regarding Controlled Open Enrollment, please refer to:

Application Process

For application instructions and controlled open enrollment procedures, please click here:

Applications received during our annual application period are reviewed based on available space and our school’s enrollment guidelines. If more applications are received during our application period than seats available, a lottery and/or waitlist will be used, as required by Florida law. Once the current waitlist has been filled, families who apply through Controlled Open Enrollment will be added to a waitlist and contacted if a seat becomes available.

Student Capacity and Seat Availability

In compliance with §1002.31, Florida Statutes, our school publicly posts student capacity (seat availability) by grade level.

Capacity data is updated every 12 weeks, as required by law.
Available seats may change during the 12‑week period due to student enrollment or withdrawal.

Enrollment Materials for Siblings

If you indicated on your completed Commitment Form that you would like to enroll a sibling in the 2025-2026 school year, please pick up the enrollment materials from the Front Office. If you have not received your child’s 2025-2026 enrollment materials, please visit the Front Office to collect the necessary forms.

Students whose parents/guardians fail to return the Commitment Letter form to the Administrative Office by the deadline above will not be guaranteed enrollment for the upcoming school year. In such cases, parents will be required to participate in the pre-enrollment process with new students seeking admission to the school through the lottery.

Lottery Process

Following the closure of open enrollment, a determination will be made whether a lottery is necessary for each grade based on the number of applications received compared to available seats. If a lottery is required, a random selection process will take place. If your child’s lottery number is drawn, you will receive an offer letter. Applicants not selected in the lottery will be added to a waiting list. Throughout the year, if a seat becomes available, offers will be extended via email based on the communication preferences indicated on the application. The school maintains waiting lists, so there is a possibility of receiving an offer at any point during the school year.
