Our Mission
Mission Statement: Accelerate growth in language, literacy, and social skills for students with special needs while engaging parents as partners in education.
What We Stand For
Our vision is to partner with the Florida Department of Education and the Polk County School District in narrowing the achievement gap between students with disabilities and their non-disabled peers. We want to assist in increasing the graduation rate for students with disabilities and prepare them to enter into a post-secondary institution or prepare them to enter the workforce.
Our Vision
“Abilities above
limitations”
CORE VALUES
INTEGRITY– Integrity creates trust. As an organization, collectively, it’s our most valuable asset. Individually, it’s the constant choice to infuse every action with honesty, fairness, and respect for our employees, families, & communities.
SPIRITUALITY– A framework of organizational values evidenced in the culture that promotes employees’ experience of transcendence through the work process, facilitating their sense of being connected to others in a way that provides feelings of completeness and joy. It is exhibited through active listening, assertively stating one’s opinions, drawing health boundaries, showing respect for others, and responding to conflicts and challenges with empathy and compassion.
RESILIENCE– The defining characteristic of resilient students is having the ability to bounce back and refocus after failure. To come out of loss and disappointment with determination, belief and a willingness to fight to the end. “Resilience is ordinary magic – all of us have the power within to bounce back from failure.”
ADAPTABILITY– Being adaptable is important because it showcases your ability to be resourceful, displays your leadership skills, determination, analytical skills and shows how relevant you are to an ongoing landscape. Having flexibility enables you to effectively handle adversity without it getting the best of you. This means having a renewed mindset and being resilient regardless of workplace challenges.
FAITH– It’s the hard work required to act with fidelity and to earn trust. It’s the hard work of being grateful for what you have instead of being resentful for what you don’t have; of forgiving when it is much easier to hate; of loving your enemies as well as your friends; Faith is fidelity to a cause with no guarantee that the cause will be successful.
